It’s been years since I’ve seen you. You were always so full of life, so brilliant. You wouldn’t have ever let anything get in your way. You were relentless. You were so joyful, and happy. Life was simple. Nothing had ever truly scarred you. You loved so hard & didn’t think twice about it.  

But, over time you changed. Life got in the way. Things happened to you that made your heart less warm. The sparkle in your eyes became dull. You realized that not everything in the world is good, and that pained you. You see the best in everyone, so it was disheartening that some people could be so cruel. You started to protect yourself in every way that you could from the possibility of getting hurt. 

However, these experiences helped you realize so much. You realized that your God is so much greater than all of the pain and that He FIGHTS for you. You realized that beauty is everywhere, you just have to seek it. It became so evident that you HAVE to face the darkness to truly see the light. 

Flash forward to the present.. you’re full of life again. You’re truly happy and you have joy. You’re starting to see the best in people again and you’re able to love people the way that they deserve to be loved. The difference is however, that you are more open-minded, understanding, and empathetic. You know how devastating it is to not be happy, so now you appreciate every single moment that you are smiling. You’re just as bright & lovely as you used to be, but you’re wiser now. There’s a completely different aura around you. When people look in your eyes, they can tell that you’ve defeated a lot. They can tell that you have fought to get where you are. But they still see love. You’ve had to depend on the Lord to literally pull you through. You learned what true love is because of it all. You have experienced the light completely demolishing the darkness. This is your power. Use it.
